Children and Youth

Welcome to UUCSV and the children’s Religious Growth and Learning (RGL) program! This congregation highly values our young people and wants them to grow into adults who are curious, strong, fair, ethical, moral, peaceful, and spiritual. This is based on the Seven Principles that Unitarian Universalist (UU) congregations covenant to affirm.

Here’s the kid-language version of the 7 Principles:

  1. We believe that each and every person is important.
  2. We believe that all people should be treated fairly and kindly.
  3. We believe that we should accept one another and keep on learning together.
  4. We believe that each person must be free to search for what is true and right in life.
  5. We believe that all persons should have a vote about the things that concern them.
  6. We believe in working for a peaceful, fair, and free world.
  7. We believe in caring for our planet Earth, the home we share with all living things.

Good rules to live by!

On a typical Sunday, the entire congregation starts the service in the sanctuary. After about 15 minutes of community, the children are sung out to their various RGL classes.

Join the RGL listserv for notices every Thursday about what’s happening on Sunday (and maybe other days of the week!).

Registration forms are on the RGL table at church or you may contact Sara Kelley for an electronic copy.
