August 2017 – The New Home Transition Committee (NHT) was formed.
September 9, 2017 – Moving/Work Day – Members of all ages moved furniture, books, supplies all over the building and helped with clean-up around the outside of the building.
September 20, 2017 – All the papers were signed and UUCSV became the official owner of our new home at 265 Point Township Drive!
September 24, 2017 – A Visioning Workshop “Help Build Our Home” session was held immediately following the Sunday service. Kathy Hummel led the activity to help us shape our future as we prepared to take ownership and make what was our rented home, our true home. Results of the workshop are posted on the NHT display board at the back of the sanctuary.
October 8, 2017 – Rev. Ann Keeler Evans led a “Celebration of Our New Home” during the Sunday service.
NHT started interviewing the architects suggested by the congregation.
The NHT committee continued to work on the tasks outlined in late August. You can find list and timetable under “Phases” on the New Home Transitions Committee page.
Clare Sammells and Mark Usry led another Work Day on November 4th to clean up our landscaping and lay mulch in preparation for the House Warming.
November 5, 2017 – A House-Warming/Community Welcome was held in celebration of our new home!
NHT continued interviewing architects and completed the process in mid-November. The committee decided upon an architectural firm and made their recommendation to the Board.
