Congregational Policies

Bathroom Policy. At UUCSV, we trust that each individual knows which bathroom is most appropriate and comfortable.

Child Protection Process. Staff and volunteers at UUCSV who have direct contact with and care of children need to be certified with background checks, and also become mandated reporters.

COVID-19 Policy. Last Revised February 21, 2023.
Summary: To protect those in the congregation with compromised immune systems or other health vulnerabilities, masks are optional in the building when the CDC determines that the COVID-19 transmission rate in our five-county area (Northumberland, Union, Snyder, Montour, and Columbia) is “low.” Masks are required when transmission levels are “medium” or above. Masking status for each Sunday will be posted on the entry doors.

We strongly encourage and trust members to stay up to date with COVID-19 and other vaccinations, per CDC recommendations.

Because of their close interaction with others, all employees of the congregation (Minister, RGL Director, Administrator, and Music Director) as well as volunteers conducting business on behalf of the congregation or official programs of the congregation (e.g. RGL classes, small group ministry, hospitality, pastoral care) are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 per CDC recommendations for their age and level of risk.

Attendees who decline to mask during services when it is required will be respectfully asked to leave.

Immunization Policy. It is the policy of the UUCSV to require immunizations against communicable diseases, particularly for its children who are old enough for vaccinations.

UUCSV Public Statement Policy. Effective August 21, 2022.

UUCSV Policies and Procedures Manual.  Last revised March, 2021; Mission Statement updated July, 2022.

Weapons-Free Zone. In accordance with the Sixth Principle and for the safety of members, visitors and employees, UUCSV prohibits the possession or carrying of weapons, firearms or handguns within all UUCSV owned or leased facilities and parking lots. This prohibition includes private citizens and staff members with carry permits.
