Recycling at UUCSV

UUCSV has a single-stream recycling contract with Fishers’ Disposal and can take all sorts of recyclables! There are bins in the Social Room, outside the bathrooms, in the RGL Common Room, and the church office. Click here for the full list of what’s accepted.

There is a basket for can collection for a local resident who needs the income from the cans. Please bag them for easy transport.

The Ronald McDonald House collects pop-tops from aluminum cans (before you recycle them at church!) and uses the income to help families of sick children at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville. There is a collection jar in the church kitchen.

There is a collection box for large packing pieces of styrofoam in the back hallway near the bathrooms. A UUCSV member takes styrofoam to HandUp Recycling in Milton. (Note, if you have styrofoam packing peanuts, Crate & Freight Plus in Lewisburg will accept them for re-use.)

HandUp Recycling in Milton accepts textiles for rags and metals. They also recycle a long list of appliances for a small fee.

Lowe’s in Selinsgrove and Montoursville will accept CFL lightbulbs, rechargeable batteries, and cell phones year round. Their garden centers will all take plastic planter pots and trays on a seasonal basis.

Staples in Williamsport accepts rechargeable batteries, cell phones, and single-use batteries. Note that single-use batteries must be individually bagged.
