Minister’s Seminar: Crafting an Intentional Faith

Congregation members met in October to dialogue about issues of a religious life. Our minister, Reverend Kenn Hurto, guided members over some of the big questions of faith and spirituality:
• What is the nature of the holy, of God?
• How do we think about theology and the nature of God?
• What do terms like Theism, Deism, Pantheism, Pan-Entheism, Mysticism, Naturalism, and Humanism mean?
• How do we discern right from wrong, truth from falsehood and make moral decisions?
Seminar participants were particularly interested in learning how to talk about their faith with those whose views are different. Rev. Kenn affirmed the core teachings of the Free Church — love, respecting others, and living truthfully. 
In November, the Minister’s Seminar will develop these ideas further with an emphasis on moral decision making.
