“The Need to GROW” documentary showing!

UUCSV invites the public to a screening of “The Need to GROW”, an award-winning documentary produced and narrated by Rosario Dawson. The film will be screened on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at noon at the church, 265 Point Township Dr. (Route 11 next to Surplus Outlet) in Northumberland. We will begin with a vegetarian potluck, watch the film, and follow with conversation. The event is suitable for all ages, and there will be hands-on activities for any ages who need to keep their hands busy while they watch.

In the filmmakers’ words, the movie “offers an intimate look into the hearts of activists and innovators in the food movement – an 8 year old girl challenges the ethics of a beloved organization – a renegade farmer struggles to keep his land as he revolutionizes resource efficient agriculture – and an accomplished visionary inventor faces catastrophe in the midst of developing a game-changing technology.”
